Why we chose this picture:
Walter uses the dark shapes in his frame to turn the negative space into a powerful element that stands on its own. He shows great accuracy in implementing lines and geometric shapes in this image, to create a sense of stability and balance. His choice of black and white puts the emphasis on composition, and contributes to the overall cold, estranged and brutal vibe of the photo. The light, the colors, the shapes and perspective - all speak the same visual language.
